2 INCH POT (GROWERS CHOICE)
Jewel Orchid Macodes petola is celebrated not for its flowers (which are small and delicate) but for its spectacular leaves. Each velvety, deep green leaf is etched with a fine network of iridescent, coppery-gold veins that shimmer in the light — a trait that gives the plant its “jewel” moniker. Leaves are oval to elliptic, soft-textured, and typically 3–6 inches long. In cultivation, the plant forms a low rosette or spreading carpet of foliage.
🌱 Growing Conditions & Care
Light
Bright, indirect light is ideal.
Avoid direct sun — it can scorch the delicate leaves.
Too little light dulls leaf color and slows growth.
Temperature
Warm, tropical conditions preferred.
Day: 70–85°F (21–29°C)
Night: 60–70°F (15–21°C)
Avoid drafts and cold temperatures below 55°F (13°C).
Humidity
High humidity (60–80%) is important for healthy foliage and vibrant vein coloration.
Use a humidity tray, pebble tray, or humidifier if your indoor air is dry.
Watering
Keep substrate evenly moist but not wet.
Water when the top inch of substrate begins to dry.
Use filtered, rain, or distilled water when possible — Jewel Orchids can be sensitive to salts and chlorine.
Avoid letting the plant sit in standing water.
